Why choose Andaman over international beaches?

Radhanagar Beach on Havelock ranks among Asia's best, the sea is calmer and clearer than Goa, no passport or forex is needed, and direct 2-hour flights from Kolkata make it the easiest island holiday for Bengalis. A 5-night trip costs ₹32,000–₹55,000 per person — comparable to Thailand but fully domestic.

5-night Andaman itinerary

  1. Port Blair arrival — Cellular Jail visit + evening Light & Sound show.
  2. To Havelock (Swaraj Dweep) — private ferry; sunset at Radhanagar Beach.
  3. Havelock — Elephant Beach by boat: snorkelling, sea walk; scuba for beginners at Nemo Reef.
  4. To Neil (Shaheed Dweep) — Natural Bridge, Bharatpur & Laxmanpur beaches; glass-bottom boat.
  5. Back to Port Blair — Chidiya Tapu sunset or Ross & North Bay island hop.
  6. Departure — morning flight from IXZ.

Frequently asked questions

Do Indians need a permit for Andaman?
No permit is needed by Indian citizens for Port Blair, Havelock and Neil. Foreign nationals get a free 30-day permit on arrival. Some tribal-reserve areas remain off-limits to everyone.
Is Andaman good for honeymooners?
It is India's top honeymoon island: private beach dinners, seaplane-blue water, luxury resorts like Taj Exotica and SeaShell on Havelock, and couple scuba dives with photographers. October–February gives the most reliable weather.
Can non-swimmers do scuba and sea walk?
Yes — beginner scuba at Havelock is instructor-held in 3–4 m water and needs no swimming; sea walk uses a helmet with piped air while you walk the seabed. Both are photographed/filmed for you.
How do ferries work between islands?
Private catamarans (Makruzz, Nautika, Green Ocean) run Port Blair ↔ Havelock ↔ Neil, 90–120 minutes per hop, air-conditioned. They sell out in season — Vaanya pre-books your ferry seats with the package.
