Is Japan worth the higher budget?
Japan is the trip Indians rank first on bucket lists for a reason: bullet trains that arrive to the second, cherry-blossom springs, Kyoto's 1,600 temples and Tokyo's neon — and it's more reachable than ever, with Japan's e-visa for Indians costing only about ₹1,700 and the weak yen making 2026 the cheapest Japan has been in decades.
7-night itinerary — Tokyo · Hakone · Kyoto · Osaka
- Tokyo (3 nights) — Shibuya crossing, Senso-ji, teamLab, Akihabara; day trip to Disneyland or Nikko.
- Hakone — Mt Fuji views, lake cruise, onsen ryokan night with kaiseki dinner.
- Shinkansen to Kyoto (2 nights) — Fushimi Inari's 10,000 torii gates, Kinkaku-ji, Gion geisha district, Arashiyama bamboo grove.
- Nara day — bowing deer, Todai-ji giant Buddha; evening to Osaka.
- Osaka (1 night) — castle, Dotonbori street food crawl; fly out of KIX.
How do Indians get the Japan visa?
Indians can use the official JAPAN eVISA system for single-entry tourist visits (up to 90 days): fee ≈ ¥3,000 (about ₹1,700), applied online or via VFS with passport, photo, itinerary and bank statements, typically processed in about 5 working days. Paper applications through VFS remain available.

Frequently asked questions
How expensive is Japan really?
Less than its reputation now: the weak yen means a good ramen meal is ₹600–800, metro rides ₹120, business hotels ₹6,000–9,000. The big costs are flights and rail passes — which the package locks in early.
Is Japan vegetarian-friendly?
Harder than Southeast Asia — dashi (fish stock) hides everywhere. Solutions: shojin-ryori temple cuisine in Kyoto, Indian restaurants in every city, konbini onigiri with checked labels, and translation cards which we provide.
When should I book for cherry blossom?
Flights and hotels 3–4 months out, minimum — sakura fortnight is Japan's peak. Late March in Tokyo/Kyoto is the classic window; the forecast firms up in February.
