Is Bali good for Indian travellers?

Yes — Bali is one of the best-value international holidays from India: visa on arrival, direct-ish one-stop flights from Kolkata, Delhi and Mumbai, English widely spoken, and hotels from budget villas to five-star cliff resorts. A 5-night trip typically costs ₹52,000–₹85,000 per person including flights.

Bali packs beaches, volcano treks, rice terraces, temples and world-class cafés into one island. For couples it is India's favourite honeymoon alternative to Maldives at half the price; for families the calm beaches of Nusa Dua and Sanur are ideal.

5-night Bali itinerary (day by day)

  1. Arrival & Seminyak — land at Denpasar (DPS), transfer to Seminyak/Kuta. Sunset at Double Six beach, dinner at a beach club.
  2. South Bali — Uluwatu temple on the cliffs, Kecak fire dance at sunset, seafood dinner on Jimbaran beach.
  3. Ubud — Tegalalang rice terraces, Sacred Monkey Forest, Ubud Palace & art market; overnight in Ubud.
  4. Volcano & temples — sunrise view of Mount Batur, Tirta Empul holy springs, coffee plantation stop.
  5. Nusa Penida day trip — fast boat to Kelingking beach viewpoint, Angel's Billabong, Crystal Bay snorkelling.
  6. Departure — beach morning, souvenir shopping, transfer to DPS.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Bali trip cost from India?
A 5-night Bali trip costs roughly ₹52,000–₹85,000 per person from Kolkata including flights, hotels with breakfast, transfers and day tours. Luxury villa trips run ₹1L+. Travelling in shoulder season (March or November) cuts 15–20% off.
Is there a direct flight from Kolkata to Bali?
There is no year-round non-stop from Kolkata; the fastest one-stop options connect via Bangkok, Singapore or Kuala Lumpur with total journey times from about 9 hours.
Is Bali safe for honeymooners and families?
Yes. Bali is among the safest destinations in Southeast Asia for Indian travellers. Standard precautions apply — rent scooters only with a licence and helmet, and use marked money changers.
What currency should I carry?
Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). Cards work in hotels and malls; carry some cash for markets and warungs. ₹1 ≈ IDR 190 (indicative).
Do I need travel insurance for Bali?
It is not mandatory but strongly recommended — medical treatment for tourists is expensive. Vaanya can add a policy covering medical, baggage and trip cancellation at checkout.
Can I get a GST invoice for a Bali package?
Yes. Vaanya Travels issues GST-compliant invoices on flights and packages — enter your company GSTIN at booking.
